Source hierarchy

Regulatory, cost, and safety facts on this site come from official sources only, in this order of preference: Florida statutes and administrative rules; FDEP publications, forms, and maps; Leon County program pages; and EPA homeowner guidance. Blogs, marketing pages, and other contractors’ websites are never used as evidence. The complete source list, with what each supports, is on the resources page.

Verification dates

Every sourced fact carries the date it was last checked — the “CHECKED” stamp on each page and the per-source dates on the resources page. Rules change: Leon County permitting moved to FDEP on January 2, 2025, the current repair definition took effect July 9, 2025, and the Wakulla BMAP was updated in June 2025. A dated fact lets you judge whether it could have moved since.

Claims we refuse to publish

We do not publish invented local price ranges, system lifespans, response-time promises, availability guarantees, credentials we do not hold, reviews we did not verify, or do-it-yourself repair instructions for systems that are legally and physically dangerous to open. Where a national reference figure exists — such as EPA’s cost ranges — we label it as a reference, not a quote.
